Welcome to Pokémon GO Podcast! Charles, Brian, and Joe have another wonderful episode. They talk all about the unique lucky mechanic that’s been added to the game. This mechanic is brand new for Pokémon GO; it has never been in any other Pokémon game before. Lucky Pokémon are obtained via trading and older Pokémon are more likely to be lucky after trading. In addition to having reduced stardust costs, they are guaranteed to have at least 66.7% IVs. The guys discuss a few scenarios where the lucky mechanic is useful, but in general they are unimpressed. Generation 4 appears to be right around the corner, so we discuss some Pokémon that will impact the meta; especially those that evolve from current Pokémon. Registeel is out, so make sure you get the “iron Pokémon” before he goes away. Raikou will be in the research boxes for August, so make sure you get your Thunder Cat while you can. The Walking Dead has come out with their own AR game, so Charles gives a brief overview of it. He thinks it might actually provide Niantic with some competition.
